A Quick Tour

Here is the whole plugin in five minutes.

The ribbon symbol

The feather in the left ribbon is the only symbol the plugin adds. Click it and the panel opens on the right. If the symbol is hidden, you can show it again in the settings under Buttons in the left ribbon.

The three areas

Articles keeps your posts for Medium and Substack in folders, with a status for each.
Books has three sub-tabs: Edit book for details, covers and chapters, New book for starting a fresh book, and Story for novels with characters, places and scenes.
Layout shows a live page while you change fonts, sizes and spacing.

The reader

Open an EPUB, PDF or Word file and it opens in the reader. A bar at the top gives you Contents, Pages, Notes, a search, the color scheme and the font settings (Aa).

The command palette

Press Ctrl+P (Cmd+P on Mac) and type a command name, such as book, article or color, to see the matching commands, for example Create book …, Open book panel (right sidebar), Create new article, Copy for Medium or Choose color scheme. The chapter Commands and Settings lists them all.

Settings

Open Obsidian settings, then ax5author. Language, formats, notes, tasks, books, colors and more are grouped in clear sections, and every device keeps its own settings, so your phone can look different from your desktop.
